I launched the Collecting Postcards Twitter feed in June 2016 (@pennypostcard), and although the blog auto-posts new entries there, I engage only sporadically.
I am on Facebook a lot, so two months ago I figured it was finally time to make a Collecting Postcards Facebook page. It does not have many followers yet, and frankly since CP is a pretty niche blog with a longform writing style and no videos that I am happy to keep relatively undercover, I would be surprised if it ever gained a large mainstream readership, and that is A-OK.
What I would like, though, is to find ways to better harness the power of Facebook to reach people who are interested in joining the Foreign Service or the Peace Corps, or who just like reading about travel or being an expat.
I have more than 1,500 followers on WordPress, but let’s face it – a lot more people are on Facebook than are on WordPress.
I am also undecided as to how much unique content I might post on Facebook without cross-posting to WordPress. I guess I will figure it out in 2019!
My blog isn’t really cool enough to be on Instagram yet, so Facebook it is. If you are on Facebook, please consider liking Collecting Postcards!
